US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to the people of India, hailing him as the most popular and visionary leader. During a reception at India House, hosted by Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Raimondo expressed her admiration for Modi, noting that he is an unbelievable visionary whose commitment to his people is incredible. During their conversation, Raimondo remarked that there will be two technology ecosystems in the world, one that is consistent with democratic values, and one that is not. In response, Modi stated that AI stands for America, India, Technology, and Ecosystem.
Raimondo also visited India from March 7th to 10th, where she met Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, and held a delegation-level talk. Following the talks between India and the US, several MoUs were signed, including a partnership in semiconductor supply chain and innovation. The goal of the partnership is to create supply chain resiliency and diversification, as well as explore new, emerging areas.

Rai has extensive experience in the fields of education and healthcare, and has worked as a professor and lecturer at prominent universities and schools. In addition, he has focused on healthcare innovation and has worked in both nonprofit and private sector roles.
