Transform Windows 11 with Built-in ChatGPT-Driven Copilot in June

Date:

This June, Microsoft is taking Windows 11 to the next level with the introduction of ChatGPT-driven Copilot, a new artificially intelligent feature that can be used alongside your regular Windows applications. A dedicated button on the taskbar allows you to launch Copilot into an accompanying window on the right of your screen, where it can serve as a helpful assistant to whatever tasks you’re undertaking. Copilot is capable of rearranging windows with Snap Layouts, summarizing and rewriting documents that were dragged into it, and opening apps like Spotify and Teams. While Microsoft didn’t provide much detail on the security and privacy features, users can expect the contents of their documents to remain protected and much of the processing to occur on their devices.

Along with the addition of Windows Copilot, Microsoft has included a range of other artificial intelligence-based features to Windows 11. The Microsoft Store will feature an “AI Hub” section that offers generative AI apps for text, images, and other tasks. Additionally, users can expect to see a setting to enable and disable presence-sensing features, a live audio captions option for 10 more languages, a new shield icon that will appear over the Wi-Fi icon when connected to a recognized VPN, and a redesigned Widgets area.

Developers have not been forgotten either. Microsoft has created an app called Dev Home that allows developers to quickly set up their PCs, create Dev Drives on local storage, automate repository cloning and app installation, and monitor system performance.

Microsoft 365 Copilot, formerly known as “Tell Me,” is a separate AI-powered virtual assistant developed by Microsoft to help people complete tasks on Windows 11 more quickly and easily. It uses natural language processing, speech recognition, machine learning, and other advanced AI tools to provide users with answers to various questions and instructions. Microsoft 365 Copilot is available on Windows 11 PCs and on the Microsoft 365 app on iOS and Android devices.
