Cloud storage provider Dropbox has unveiled a range of artificial intelligence (AI) tools intended to simplify searching, file previewing and understanding of large files. Dubbed Dropbox Dash, the AI-powered universal search offers integration with Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce and Notion, allowing users to search for material from all providers in one location, thus avoiding the need to recall which platform they are stored on. Dropbox AI, meanwhile, allows for summaries of large files and ability to ask questions about content without reading the whole document. The changes come after a McKinsey Global Institute survey suggested knowledge workers spend an average of nine hours per week searching for files.
