Amplify Health Asia Pte Limited, a joint venture between AIA Group Limited and Discovery Limited, has appointed David Frankenfield as its new Chief Data Officer. Mr. Frankenfield will be based in Singapore and will join the company’s Executive Committee, reporting directly to its Chief Executive Officer, Dr Axel Baur.
Mr. Frankenfield has 20 years of experience in healthcare and has held a variety of leadership positions at Optum, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group. Notably, he built and led a team of 3,300 data, technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) professionals, having assembled one of the largest analytics teams in healthcare. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from SUNY Buffalo.
As the Chief Data Officer of Amplify Health, Mr. Frankenfield will oversee the scaling of the company’s integrated data and analytics solutions throughout Asia. He will lead Amplify Health’s expanding team of data and AI professionals and drive the development of a state-of-the-art Data and Analytics as a Service to provide better individual consumer and patient outcomes.
Dr Axel Baur, the Chief Executive Officer of Amplify Health, welcomed Mr. Frankenfield on board and mentioned how his entrepreneurial spirit and extensive experience in healthcare make him an invaluable asset to the company. He highlighted how Mr. Frankenfield’s knowledge and experience will be immensely beneficial as the company works on realising its ambitious vision to transform healthcare in Asia.
