Arvind Kejriwal Inaugurates 50 Delhi Government Departments’ 180 Websites – Latest India News Update

Date:

On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched an integrated portal that is hosting more than 180 websites of 50 Delhi government departments. He stated that these websites are based on cloud storage, instead of the server system, which would lead to no crashes, faster loading times, and improved user experience.

The websites inaugurated belong to a myriad of departments such as the transport and the public works departments. The IT department of the Delhi government played a key role in the completion of the task. It incorporated artificial intelligence services, providing a tab-friendly experience for all users, as well as ample bandwidth and space.

The existing websites hosted by the Department of Information Technology, GNCTD were designed in 2008 and needed an update in order to fix the outdated technology, outages and breakdowns that were affecting the user experience. The new websites, on the other hand, allow for faster loading times, better performance, and an improved user experience, as well as seamless integrations with social media accounts of multiple departments.

The new initiative was particularly useful during the Covid pandemic when the government was announcing financial assistance packages for Delhi drivers, among other initiatives. This raised the traffic load significantly, crashing the relevant website. The new cloud storage based websites make sure that this will not happen again, as they have the capacity to handle thousands of requests per second.

Kailash Gahlot, the IT Minister, pointed out that this is a significant step in making government services more user-friendly. He also said that the Delhi government will continue to incorporate the latest technology available in its operations in order to benefit the people of Delhi.
