On Wednesday, Chinese phone maker ZTE unveiled a range of impressive new devices at its spring product launch in Shenzhen, including the Axon 50 Ultra. This flagship phone comes with 5G support and a two-way satellite messaging feature, allowing users to send and receive text messages without a traditional phone signal. The device utilizes the BeiDou satellite, while earlier in March, Huawei’s P60 series phones were the first consumer products to have the same technology, but at 4G. Additionally, the Axon 50 Ultra also has an extended 6.67-inch AMOLED curved display that supports a 144Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and a security chip created by ZTE. Further, ZTE also showcased its new 5G dual-system tablet, the Axon Pad, as well as an AI glasses-free tablet, the Nubia Pad 3D. The prices and launch dates for these devices have not yet been announced.
