Yuanfudao, a Chinese online tutoring startup, is launching AI-powered UI design tool called Motiff in later this year. USD-backed by tech giant Tencent, Yuanfudao closely collaborates with China’s top universities, such as Tsinghua and Peking University, to develop the technologies behind Motiff in its AI Lab, which was established back in 2014.
Yuanfudao has been utilizing AI for its educational products for many years, using it for various tasks such as checking arithmetic homework and providing virtual classes. After the regulation enforcement on after-school education sector in 2022, the company has restructured its business in four major segments: education technology, digital publishing, enterprise services, and new retail.
The co-founder and CEO of Yuanfudao is Mr. Yuan Yuan. He founded the company with CEO Wang Xiaoyang in 2012 and since then Yuanfudao has become the biggest online tutoring service in China with over 80 million registered users. Over the last 8 years, Yuanfudao has established strategic partnerships with big Chinese companies, such as Baidu, AliPay, and Tencent, and received investments from Fortune 500 companies, including Goldman Sachs and KKR.
As Yuanfudao harness AI technology to power its range of educational services, this launch of Motiff will give users much easier access to design UI without the need of being a long-time professional in the field. It is poised to become the next generation of Sigma, as reported by 36Kr. This will surely be a great benefit for user experience and allow more people the chance to create and share design materials easily.
