Telangana State Public Service Commission Exam Paper Leak: How ChatGPT and Bluetooth Earbuds Were Used to Cheat

The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has uncovered a case of cheating involving the use of ChatGPT and Bluetooth earbuds during a recruitment exam for an assistant executive engineer and divisional accounts officer. TSPSC’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) found that Poola Ramesh, a divisional engineer with Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company Ltd, used the latest AI technology to access the question papers and then relayed the answers to the aspiring candidates present in the exam hall using Bluetooth earbuds. Ramesh was also accused of selling question papers for the Assistant Engineer (Civil) exam to several candidates. The SIT found that a total of 49 people were involved in the case, including four who were arrested after allegedly writing exams with the help of electronic devices.

ChatGPT is a free chatbot that uses natural language processing to interact with users and answer their questions in real-time. It is an AI-based technology that has applications in fields such as customer support, healthcare, education, and more.

Poola Ramesh is a divisional engineer with Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company Ltd, who was accused of using ChatGPT to cheat during a recruitment exam for assistant executive engineer and divisional accounts officer. Ramesh allegedly received the leaked question papers for the Assistant Engineer (Civil) exam from another accused, Poola Ravi Kishore, and sold them to several candidates. Ramesh and four others used ChatGPT to get correct answers to the questions and relayed them to the candidates present in the exam hall using Bluetooth earbuds. Ramesh was detained by the SIT and has been charged with fraud and other offenses under the Indian Penal Code.
