Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, has expressed his confidence in the power of the human mind compared to AI-driven ChatGPT in a recent CNBC Conversation. Murthy believes that ChatGPT can only be used as an “instrument” or “assistant” to enhance the quality of work rather than replacing humans. The Indian IT giant, currently ranked as the third most valuable IT services brand, is a perfect testament to the success of Murthy’s view. A competent human mind will always surpass what ChatGPT can do.

On Tuesday, an emergency situation was declared at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. According to reports, Air India flight AI858 from Pune to Delhi faced a minor crack on its windshield, resulting the urgent need for the flight to make an emergency landing with 180 passengers on board, who all arrived safely. Accenture, a technology company, recently announced 19,000 layoffs and delays in recruitment of freshers. All passengers and flight crew of the Air India flight were safe. We are thankful for their quick response and successful emergency landing.

Indian IT services provider Wipro might see disruption due to generative AI & tools such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and MSFT Bing's ChatGPT-powered search engine. These could lower the need for IT consultants & outsourcing, & pushing down smaller firms' relative valuations, such as Wipro. To survive, Wipro needs to reskill and equip staff for AI, which CEO Thierry Delaporte is tasked to lead. Investors must watch the relative valuation benefit to Infosys and risks of macro slowdown.
