Solana, one of the largest Proof-of-Stake networks in the world, recently made a significant entry into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the launch of its open-source reference implementation for ChatGPT plugin. On Tuesday, Solana Labs announced that the new plugin would allow users to connect to the Solana network from ChatGPT and would also let developers build AI-based applications.
Chat GPT is a powerful language model developed by OpenAI, co-founded by billionaire Elon Musk in 2015. The chatbot quickly gained worldwide fame due to its AI-powered chatbot, which can give accurate responses to just about any input. This technology has already been adopted by various industries, like the crypto-sector, to enhance user experience.
The new reference implementation is fully open-source, meaning that anyone can use it to develop their projects. Moreover, developers will be able to “check wallet balance, transfer tokens, and purchase NFTs” once the ChatGPT plugins are available.
In addition, the Solana Foundation has alloted a $1M fund from which teams who are crafting AI tools on Solana can receive a generous grant, with each project in the range of $5-25,000.
The announcement of the new platform was met with enthusiasm and Solana’s price climbed by 8% in the past 24 hours, trading at $22 at the time of this writing. This shows how AI can bring increased efficiency and better user experience to Solana’s network.
