Solana Labs, the developer of the Solana blockchain has just unveiled a brand new plugin called ChatGPT, which will make it easier for people to communicate with the Solana blockchain. This plugin enables chatbot users to access their wallet balance, transfer tokens, and even purchase Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
The plugin works by providing users with the facts that pertain to their requests in natural language. An example provided by Solana says that one user is able to request a list of the NFTs that are held by a specific Solana address. Another user could ask for help in buying an NFT and yet another user may request assistance with transferring a Solana transaction to a different address.
Furthermore, developers using the ChatGPT plugin will receive on-chain data like account balance, asset holdings, transactions, signatures and NFT collections from the Solana blockchain.
Even though the Solana team has not shared an exact date as to when the project will be made available, developers will be able to access the source code and create their own plugins. At present, the utility is available as an unverified plugin at the URL https://solana-gpt-plugin.onrender.com.
The announcement of this plugin by Solana Labs coincides with similar Artificial Intelligence (AI) based services that have been developed for multiple by cryptocurrency related services and projects.
Solana Labs is a blockchain development firm founded in 2017. It is keyed towards providing users with unparalleled speed and scale when communicating with blockchain networks. It is also open source, meaning that developers are able to freely branch off and create their own projects and applications.
The plugin was announced by the CEO of Solana Labs, Anatoly Yakovenko. He is a former engineer at Qualcomm and is experienced in developing software as a service (SaaS) products and researching ways to improve public networks and their scalability. He has also been noted as one of the early pioneers in the blockchain space and is instrumental in the development and maintenance of Solana.
