Social media firm Snap recently announced its free My AI chatbot for all its users at its Partner Summit 2023. Powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, the AI-based chatbot was initially made available to the 3 million paid subscribers back in the day. Snap My AI is accessible by mentioning it with the @ symbol in the chat group. Much like ChatGPT, it can answer questions, request creative content, and have conversations. Further, it will also provide augmented reality filters to Snapchat’s camera.
Snap desires to taking My AI to the next level by enabling it to accept visuals as input. A demonstration at the summit witnessed the bot producing an image of gazpacho soup with a photo of tomatoes in the garden. Moreover, the company announced the AR Mirrors at the summit event which allow customers to virtually try out clothes in retail stores. Besides this, it is also working with beverage brand Coca-Cola for interactive screens in soda machines, and with music concert organizers Live Nation Entertainment for building 16 music festivals, such as New York’s Governor’s Ball.
Since its Investor Day event back in February, Snap has managed to reach 750 million active users (MAU). In an attempt to cross the 1 billion mark, CEO Evan Spiegel shared that the platform’s user base and engagement has doubled in India.
