ServiceNow Reports $2.7B Revenue Boost, AI Expansion Sparks Growth
ServiceNow Inc., a leading software company, has announced a significant boost in revenue and expansion in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The company’s stock remained flat in extended trading following the quarterly report, which showcased a bounce in revenue driven by strong subscription sales.
Chief Executive Bill McDermott expressed excitement over the company’s growth, stating, It’s incredible. Innovation is the well-spring of growth: We have introduced 5,000 new innovations this year. McDermott also highlighted the role of generative AI in driving real product and growth.
ServiceNow experienced a notable 27% increase in quarterly subscription sales, reaching $2.2 billion. A major contributor to this growth was the company’s aggressive push into AI. In May, ServiceNow formed a partnership with Nvidia Corp. to develop customized large language models for data using Nvidia software, services, and infrastructure.
The financial results for the fiscal third quarter revealed a net income of $242 million, or $1.18 per share, compared to $603 million, or $2.95 per share, in the same period last year. Adjusted earnings per share were reported at $2.95.
Furthermore, ServiceNow reported a significant revenue surge of 25%, amounting to $2.7 billion compared to $2.2 billion in the previous year. The company expects annual subscription sales between $8.635 billion and $8.64 billion. In the second quarter, ServiceNow achieved 83 new transactions worth over $1 million in net new annual contract value, representing a 20% increase year-over-year.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet had predicted quarterly adjusted net earnings of $2.56 per share on revenue of $2.27 billion. Additionally, they had anticipated annual subscription sales of $8.9 billion for ServiceNow.
Despite the flat stock performance, shares of ServiceNow have experienced a strong upward trend throughout the year, gaining 40%. In comparison, the broader S&P 500 has seen a 9% improvement.
