The AI industry has been a hot topic in the world today and ChatGPT – a star product of OpenAI, has managed to spark various debates about job markets and the future of work. Sam Altman, the CEO of Open AI, has responded firmly on the idea AI could replace human jobs and even went on a world tour to speak with different heads of governments in order to discuss proper regulations about its usage.
Altman discussed the idea with the entrepreneurs at Station F in Paris last Friday and made it clear that he disagreed with the concept of AI destroying job markets. He explained that the technology should be used to give people the opportunity to become even more productive, by allowing them to have 100 virtual assistants who would be working in the background and helping them to come up with ideas and conduct research simultaneously.
OpenAI was established in 2015 and originally had the involvement of famous investor Elon Musk, who later withdrew from the company. Ever since then, Elon Musk has expressed concerns regarding the organization and was particularly bothered by OpenAI choosing to switch to a for-profit closed-source model, similar to Google.
Sam Altman’s world tour is yet to reach India, where he is expected to make an appearance in June. Consequently, he will likely meet up with government officials and enlighten them on the importance of properly regulating the use of AI.
OpenAI is a non-profit business, which concentrates on developing and directing AI in a way that is beneficial to all of humankind. It is because of OpenAI’s great achievements and successful products, such as ChatGPT, have earned Sam Altman the attention he deserved. Lastly, his insights worldwide give us further reason to expect a prosperous future for the AI industry.
