Quora’s AI chatbot service, Poe, has unveiled a range of new tools aimed at enhancing user experience. These tools include an expanded context window for better responses, support for URL retrieval and document upload, and the ability to continue other users’ public conversations. Quora has made its 100k-token context windows available to all users with the launch of Anthropic’s Claude-2, whereas it was previously limited to paid users. The context window refers to the amount of text the model considers before generating responses.
Poe now also offers ChatGPT-16k and GPT-4-32k to subscribers, but the company plans to make them accessible to all users in the future. In addition, Poe has introduced URL fetching and document uploading capabilities, allowing users to ask questions about web pages or documents to gain further insights on specific topics.
The latest feature introduced by Poe is the Continue chat option, which allows users to import a copy of a publicly shared chat and continue the conversation with their own account. This feature is compatible with the new file uploading and URL fetching features. However, it is currently only available on the web, with mobile app availability expected soon.
Quora’s CEO, Adam D’Angelo, highlighted how these new features enable users to inquire about a range of cases, such as Microsoft’s legal battle with the FTC over the Activision Blizzard acquisition, using court documents. Users can also compare two documents to analyze changes made to a privacy policy or a company’s service offering.
Poe was initially launched on iOS in February and Android in May. Quora introduced a subscription plan in March, offering higher chat limits and access to better conversational models for $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year. In April, Poe introduced a user-friendly tool that allows users to create their own bots with text prompts. With the latest updates, Poe now provides access to models such as Claude 2, Claude-instant-100k, GPT-4, ChatGPT, GPT-4, and Google PaLm. According to industry analysts, Poe boasts around one million monthly active users on its mobile apps.
Poe aims to stand out in the market by integrating multiple models and facilitating the discovery of custom user-created bots, amidst the increasing number of consumer products offering AI-powered chatbot functionalities.
