Brazilian venture capital firm Positive Ventures has raised $25m in capital commitments for its impact fund, which aims to invest in tech-driven solutions to climate change, education, healthcare and financial services in underserved Latin American communities. The fund is triple the size of the firm’s previous flagship fund, raised three years earlier. Positive Ventures will focus on pre-seed and seed stage companies and intends to invest in between 20 and 25. Average cheques for pre-seed companies will be about $250,000, while those for seed rounds will be $600,000. The firm’s new funding was provided by institutional investors, family offices, and The Natura & Co CEO, Fabio Barbosa.
