Poco is a sub-brand of the Chinese company Xiaomi that markets its mobile phones. The Poco C51 is an entry-level smartphone that is suitable for first-time and budget users. It builds on the form and function that have made Poco C-series so compelling and offers decent specs, practical features and cool design with a very affordable price. Powered by the Helio G36 chipset, it sports a 6.52-inch LCD with HD+ resolution and runs on the Android 13 (Go edition) OS. The C51 also offers 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a dual camera setup consisting of a 8MP primary camera + VGA sensor and a 5MP front-facing snapper, along with a 5,000 mAh battery wiht 10 watts of charging – all of this at an introductory price of Rs 7,799 on the first day of sale. The device will be available for sale on Flipkart from April 12 onwards in two colour options — Royal Blue and Power Black.
Jai Mani, the Lead Product Manager at Poco, is a tech veteran with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and multiple patents to his credit. He has had experience with some of the most creative Silicon Valley companies, building products, growing teams and launching products. Mani led Google’s India product management function for six years and has been with Xiaomi since early 2016. His experience encompasses building mobile/tablet products, platforms, cloud products and core software services, and more recently creating a mobile brand in India.
