OpenAI to Support Startups and Education in India

OpenAI has voiced its support for Indian start-ups and education following its CEO Sam Altman‘s visit to the country. Altman said education is the company’s top priority in India, expressing excitement about the possibility of working with Indian authorities to support it. He also reportedly stated that investment in Indian start-ups was the firm’s priority over setting up a new home. While visiting India‘s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Altman discussed challenges and opportunities presented by AI and the need for global regulation. India is ranked fifth in the world for AI investment, with its start-ups reportedly attracting $3.24bn last year.
