Malaysia to Embrace New Technologies, Including AI, to Combat Flooding – Ahmad Zahid

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has announced plans to implement innovative approaches, including artificial intelligence (AI) technology, to address the recurring issue of flooding in Malaysia. According to him, the use of advanced methods has shown remarkable effectiveness in managing natural disasters over the long term.

In his capacity as the chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, Ahmad Zahid emphasized that these initiatives will be spearheaded by the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS). He highlighted the importance of drawing insights from experiences, like those in Osaka, to develop sustainable strategies for tackling flooding problems proactively.
