KPMG Australia has introduced a new software called KPMG KymChat, which utilizes Generative AI technology to aid clients in their AI journey. Initially launched internally in March 2023, KPMG KymChat allowed KPMG employees to leverage the processing power of the fifth-largest supercomputer in the world through a digital assistant on their devices. This internal tool ensured that client data remained within the secure KPMG environment.
Now, KPMG is offering Australian organizations the opportunity to implement their own version of KPMG KymChat through an Accelerator solution. This solution combines the use cases, features, and lessons learned from KymChat with bespoke consulting services. It aims to assist organizations in harnessing the power of AI technology while prioritizing data privacy and compliance.
John Munnelly, KPMG’s Chief Digital Officer, stated, Many Australian organizations are struggling with the rapid deployment of AI. We received numerous inquiries about how we were using KymChat as an internal tool, which led us to release a version for clients. This has been made possible with the recent release of Microsoft Azure OpenAI services, and the solution will leverage Microsoft’s best AI practices and patterns, along with the lessons we’ve learned at KPMG.
Microsoft Australia and New Zealand’s Chief Technology Officer, Lee Hickin, expressed that the launch of KPMG KymChat provides clients with an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the potential of AI and how it can enhance productivity and revolutionize operations. He emphasized that the AI era is in its early stages, and as businesses explore different applications of AI, the true potential of responsibly managed AI continues to unfold.
The KPMG KymChat Accelerator is part of a broader range of AI and technology services offered by KPMG Consulting and tech enablement teams. By providing hands-on experience with AI technology, the accelerator aims to assist Australian organizations in navigating the challenges associated with AI implementation, while ensuring data privacy and compliance.
Munnelly highlighted the struggle businesses face in finding a clear starting point for piloting AI within their organizations. He pointed out that they are seeking a secure and compliant enterprise AI solution that aligns with Australia’s privacy settings. With the launch of KPMG KymChat, clients now have a cost-effective means to accelerate their AI projects and empower their employees with a safe and user-friendly platform.
KPMG’s alliance with Microsoft enables the deployment of the KPMG KymChat AI solution through Microsoft Azure’s OpenAI platform. By leveraging this partnership, KPMG aims to provide clients with a comprehensive AI solution that meets their specific needs while benefiting from the technological expertise of both companies.
