Pakistan’s IT sector has recently seen a significant boost, securing a remarkable $500 million in investment pledges at the prestigious ITCN Asia tech expo. The event, which marked its 24th edition, witnessed the coming together of over 600 companies from both local and international IT, telecom, and allied sectors.
Organizers of the three-day expo revealed that the event resulted in numerous business deals and investment commitments, setting the stage for enhanced growth within Pakistan’s technological landscape. One of the major highlights of the expo was the hosting of various insightful sessions, including the AI Summit and Global Digital Summit.
Muhammad Umair Nizam, the vice president and event director of Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, expressed his optimism about the impact of the event on Pakistan’s IT and telecom sectors. Nizam emphasized that the expo would play a pivotal role in attracting investment, boosting export revenues, fostering a startup culture, and promoting the adoption of artificial intelligence within the country.

Moreover, Khawaja announced the government’s plans to offer affordable loans to the IT sector, as well as the launch of the Industry Academia Bridge Program aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry. These initiatives are geared towards fostering a conducive environment for IT professionals and encouraging the growth of Pakistan’s digital economy.
The participation of international investors from 12 countries at the event signifies the global interest in Pakistan’s IT sector, with an estimated $500 million in investments expected to flow into the country.
