India recently made a significant mark at the 76th NAFSA global education conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event, which is the largest international annual education gathering in the world, brought together over 10,000 delegates from more than 110 countries. The theme of the conference, Resilience. Renewal. Community., focused on building stronger global communities post-pandemic and supporting education renewal.
The Indian delegation, consisting of more than 40 major academic institutes from both the public and private sectors, showcased the country’s potential in the education sector. The delegation had one of the largest representations at the conference, highlighting the growing interest in Indian education and fostering collaboration between India and the US.
During the conference, Consul General Manjunath emphasized the importance of educational exchanges in building bridges for mutual understanding, learning, and friendship. He inaugurated the Study in India pavilion and the India Pavilion booths, providing attendees with insights into the diverse academic opportunities available in India.
Representatives from Study in India and the India Pavilion engaged in discussions on academic cooperation between India and the US, showcasing India’s robust education system and high-quality research facilities. The delegates also explored opportunities for collaboration, including student exchange programs and faculty mobility, to enhance educational experiences and global perspectives.
In addition to the pavilions, an event titled India’s Higher Education Partnership & Dialogue was organized to highlight India’s economic growth, educational system development, and new opportunities in universities. Participants discussed the various academic programs and research opportunities available in India, fostering international collaborations and partnerships.
