Google and photo editor PhotoRoom are partnering up to provide faster AI photo editing for businesses. The software, known as the fastest generative AI provider in the commerce space, will allow smaller businesses to create and edit product images for ecommerce platforms in less than an hour. Thanks to Google’s A3 supercomputers, the tedious task of product photography will be streamlined without compromising quality or accuracy, ultimately leading to a faster production time for businesses.
Product photography is essential for ecommerce platforms, as it is crucial for customers to see items clearly, and websites need to illustrate product variations. PhotoRoom uses AI technology to simplify the image manipulation process and create unique backgrounds without requiring additional equipment. Matthieu Rouif, PhotoRoom CEO, revealed that the software was already processing two billion images annually – a number expected to double by 2024.
Google Cloud’s A3 instances, which were released in May 2023, are the next generation of GPU supercomputers. They are designed to meet the high demand for AI models for generative AI and LLMs (long short-term memory).
The partnership between Google and PhotoRoom is mutually beneficial, strengthening Google’s focus on delivering artificial intelligence to businesses while benefitting PhotoRoom’s growth through access to Google’s industry-leading infrastructure and AI tooling. Mark Lohmeyer, Vice President and General Manager of Google Cloud, said, We’re thrilled to offer Google Cloud’s industry leading infrastructure, foundation models, and AI tooling to PhotoRoom so the company can build, train, and deploy AI creatively, reliably, and at scale.
Overall, the partnership between Google and PhotoRoom will revolutionize product photography for ecommerce businesses by enhancing efficiency and producing high-quality visuals.
