Kaitlyn Glancy, the former vice president of North America at Flexport, has joined venture firm Eclipse as its newest partner. Eclipse, which focuses on funding startups that are modernizing legacy industries, was viewed as a great fit for Glancy, thanks to her eight years at Flexport, where she managed a team of 400 people across ten offices. Glancy, who oversaw freight forwarding customs brokerage, also noted that there is a lot of opportunity in the logistics industry, especially in the domestic piece, which includes improving support infrastructure, rail infrastructure, and trucking infrastructure. As part of the Eclipse team, Glancy will be focusing on the seed and Series A space, with a particular emphasis on supply-chain visibility and go-to-market strategies. She believes that startups tend to focus too much on building the perfect product, while overlooking the importance of real-time customer feedback as part of the development process.
