FIITJEE, a prominent education institution in India, recently launched the first cohort of its Accelerator Program in 2022, which provides startups working in EdTech, HealthTech and Social Impact Sectors with a structured mentoring program. Close to 150 startups applied, out of which 16 were then selected for intensive mentoring sessions conducted by a panel of 4 experts appointed by FIITJEE. The Demo Day event gave these startups an opportunity to present their venture before prominent figures of the investment world, such as D. K. Goel, the Chairman of FIITJEE Group and the Chief Guest, Saurabh Srivastava, Chairman of Indian Angel Network and Co-Founder of NASSCOM.
The shortlisted startups included Witblox, an online hangout place for K-12 students who love to build robots, drones or do anything related to technology; Arivu Learning’s Mypal, a hybrid B2B Education Platform for Test Prep Courses; K8 School, India’s only online school for Nursery-Grade 8 accredited by Cognia; Stimuler, which helps improve speech in English using AI voice engines; Shakti, India’s first woman safety defensible accessory; Perception AI, working on technology to help visually impaired navigate independently; Ajna Lens (Dimension NXG), an Education Platform making learning Interesting and Immersive Hands-On; and Exam Lounge, a platform that uniquely analyses students based on their learning behaviour, pace, and level.
FIITJEE has always been a strong proponent for technological innovation in its 30-year journey. It was the first to set up an in-house faculty training program and the first to devise an accurate rank prediction algorithm. With the Accelerator Program, it wants to provide budding entrepreneurs with a platform to bring their ideas to life. To that end, it has also collaborated with TIE to launch the FIITJEE Edtech Grant Challenge, which offers the top 3 innovators in EdTech a cash grant of Rs. 25 Lacs each with mentorship from FIITJEE and TI.
D. K. Goel, Chairman of FIITJEE Group, is pleased with the success of the first cohort of the Accelerator Program and remarked that the clarity and use of innovations shown by the entrepreneurs to solve pressing problems in India was commendable.
Saurabh Srivastava, Chairman of Indian Angel Network and Co-Founder, NASSCOM, was also delighted with the startups that had made it to the Demo Day. He praised their potential and wished FIITJEE the best for their future cohorts.
