The majority of developers are embracing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, with new starters even using them to speed up the learning process, according to a survey by programmer Q&A website Stack Overflow. The survey involved responses from over 90,000 developers, and found that a group of highly accurate tools were trusted by just 3%. However, AI tools are still used by 44%, with 26% planning to use them soon. ChatGPT, created by OpenAI, is the favourite AI search tool, while GPT-powered AI developer tool Github Copilot is also a top pick.
