Active CHTA members in good standing can submit nominations directly, or tourism entities, industry partners, and CHTA sponsors may also nominate deserving candidates.
A panel of independent expert judges will review the nominations and select the winners. The highly anticipated results will be announced at the CHIEF Awards Luncheon, scheduled to take place from November 29 to December 1, 2023, at the Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon.
CHTA President Nicola Madden-Greig expressed her excitement about the upcoming awards, stating, The 2023 CHIEF Awards celebrate the resilience, innovation, and community spirit demonstrated by our members and partners. We are honored to recognize these efforts and eagerly anticipate outstanding nominations.
The CHIEF event was initially established as an idea exchange forum, focusing on sharing strategies and practices within the Caribbean hospitality industry. The conference aims to inspire other tourism businesses throughout the region to adopt the award-nominated and -receiving strategies discussed in Miami.
In 2022, notable winners included The Landings Resort & Spa in St. Lucia for Business Operations, Half Moon in Jamaica for Environmental Sustainability, Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba for Sales and Marketing, and Grace Bay Car Rentals and Sales in Turks and Caicos for Human Resources and Staffing.
CHIEF 2023, the Caribbean region’s premier engagement, networking, and education event for hospitality professionals, will explore the theme A New Era of Caribbean Tourism: Balancing Tradition, Technology, and Community. The conference, scheduled to take place after the global pandemic and the remarkable recovery of Caribbean tourism, will focus on cementing the lessons learned and creating a sustainable and resilient industry with a growth mindset.
Participants can expect engaging sessions covering topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in marketing and operations, leveraging emerging technologies to future-proof hotels, and fostering dynamic work environments.
Madden-Greig emphasized, Delegates can look forward to dynamic sessions focused on innovative practices and technologies they can implement to elevate Caribbean tourism. Our goal is for attendees to leave feeling energized and equipped with the knowledge to drive their businesses and our industry forward into the new year and beyond.
