Bharti Airtel Foundation Launches Scholarship Program for Engineering Students

New Delhi [India], July 16 (ANI): The philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, Bharti Airtel Foundation, is celebrating its 25th anniversary by launching a scholarship program to support deserving students, especially focusing on girls pursuing technology-based Engineering UG and integrated programs.

The newly announced ‘Bharti Airtel Scholarship Program’ is merit-cum-means based and aims to assist students from various backgrounds who are seeking admission in the top 50 NIRF (Engineering) colleges, including IITs, in August 2024.

Starting with 250 students this year, the program plans to expand gradually to reach 4,000 students, with an annual budget of Rs 100 crore at its peak. The scholarship will cover 100% of college fees for the entire duration of the course, along with providing a laptop to the students.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a family income not exceeding Rs 8.5 lakhs annually and be enrolled in UG and integrated courses related to electronics and communication, telecom, computer sciences, data sciences, and emerging technologies at the top engineering colleges.

Furthermore, the scholarship will also cover hostel and mess fees for eligible students who apply for it.

Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice Chairman of Bharti Enterprises and Co-Chairman of Bharti Airtel Foundation, emphasized the importance of empowering students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, especially girls, to excel academically and achieve their aspirations through education.
