Annual Investment Meeting Addresses Global Market Issues and Future Investment Prospects

The 12th Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Global 2023) is a three day event that is hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and is supported by the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA). Scheduled to be held from 8th to 10th May at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the conference is set to emphasize on two main tracks that are Investment and Innovation & Technology, which further covers 10 key different sectors namely Agriculture, Energy, Technology, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Tourism & Hospitality, Transportation & Logistics, Finance, Healthcare, and Education.

The objective of this prestigious event is to evaluate the current investment trends and challenges, analyse them and explore future opportunities for sustainable economic growth and global prosperity. This year AIM Global 2023 is focusing on Least Developed Countries Forum and the Future Finance Forum with the Union of Arab Banks. The Least Developed Countries Forum is an initiative taken by WAIPA to guide and provide IPAs with the necessary tools, skills and knowledge to tackle global challenges and offer viable and sustainable solutions.

On the other hand, the Future Finance Forum will expound on the usage of innovative technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, Web3 and digital currencies to promote financial access and sustainability. Other events, side events and speakers lined up by AIM Global 2023 are ‘Make it in the Emirates’, ‘Invest in Abu Dhabi’, ‘Road to the World Investment Forum’, ‘Entrepreneurs Investment Summit’, ‘Bloomberg New Energy Finance Forum’, ‘Finoverse Forum’, ‘Distressed and Alternative Investment Forum’ and ‘ Advanced Manufacturing Investment Forum’.

The Union of Arab Banks Secretary General, Dr Wissam Fattouh stated that the conference is a platform to discuss the challenges that the Arab region is facing, connect the dots and help build the future in order to have a green, sustainable and digital Arab economy. Meanwhile, WAIPA Executive Director and CEO, Ismail Ersahin appreciated the collaborative approach to the meeting and expressed his enthusiasm over the workshop on ‘Attracting Institutional Capital and mentioned the efforts the association has been taking to create the necessary training programs.

AIM Global 2023 has the ambition of providing exposure and venue for knowledge sharing, exchanging ideas and experiences and exploring global business prospects and partnership opportunities while promoting economic growth and sustainability.
