Chinese Advertising Agency Replaces Copywriters and Designers with ChatGPT Technology

Date:

BlueFocus, now one of the highest-ranked global public relations firms in 2022, has made a bold investment in artificial intelligence or AI, following their partnership with Microsoft this year. The Beijing-based company has declared they will be ceasing the hiring of human copywriters and designers, replacing them with AI-based software like ChatGPT. The purpose of this replacement is to decrease outsourcing expenses and fully embrace generative AI.

In addition to ChatGPT, BlueFocus has also been engaging with Chinese alternative AI applications such as Ernie Bot by Baidu and Tongyi Qianwen AI Chatbot by Alibaba for digital marketing projects, virtual character building and other tasks. The move by BlueFocus has thrown its weight behind AI, as the technology is being seen as a potential risk to job security with a recent study from OpenAI concluding that 80% of human jobs in USA could be affected by it.

Regulators and governments are currently working to understand the effects of generative AI on the economy, with the US Commerce Department already soliciting comments from the public regarding the development. Italy is the first country to ban ChatGPT due to privacy concerns, with the Italian data protection agency published a list of requirements in order to restore it, as China is drafting rules that will help to control its rapid development.

The person mentioned in this article is an anonymous employee who was able to verify the internal email of BlueFocus. They confirmed the intentions of the agency cutting certain outsourcing costs through fully embracing the use of AI.
