New York-based lawyer Steven Schwartz has landed in hot water for using an AI tool called ChatGPT to help him write a legal brief. The tool is capable of generating text, but it appears that Schwartz used it to create fake legal references to bolster his argument. In other AI news, graphics giant NVIDIA is teaming up with advertising multinational WPP to develop a content engine that will enable creative teams to produce high-quality commercial content using NVIDIA Omniverse’s technology and Generative AI. Meanwhile, Microsoft has increased Bing Chat’s turns to 30 and increased total responses per day to 300. Additionally, Bing’s AI image creator is now available in all modes, and chat queries will now have more visual responses. Finally, one of the pioneers of AI, Professor Yoshua Bengio, has expressed concern about the technology falling into the wrong hands and has joined the call for AI regulation.
