AI video editor Dumme secures $3.4M in funding to create Shorts from long-form YouTube videos.

Date:

YC-backed Dumme, a video editing startup, has raised $3.4m in a seed round. The investment comes after Dumme gained interest from hundreds of video creators who are testing the AI-based software it is developing. The app allows creators to turn long-form YouTube videos into Shorts, TikTok or Instagram Reels more easily, while the speed and quality of the editing provided by the AI is claimed to be better than a human contractor’s output. During testing, the product has been free to use, with the company considering $0.40 per minute of video processed for businesses. Smaller creators may instead opt for a monthly subscription capped at 10 hours of content per month. Dumme is expected to onboard around 500 people every week.
