At Microsoft Build 2023, the company announced several new AI-related developments for its apps and services, such as Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and others. The event has already seen the introduction of Copilot, Microsoft’s AI personal assistant, and to Windows 11, along with Bluetooth LE support, additional languages, and native RGB controls.
Microsoft also unveiled its 365 Copilot plug-ins that can be used within Office applications like Outlook, Word, and Excel. These plug-ins can be used to summarize, rewrite, and explain text, as well as adjust computer settings. This system will also be successfully integrated with Edge and will support various third-party services including Atlassian and Adobe.
In addition, Windows Terminal is getting an AI-powered chatbot in the form of GitHub Copilot. This will enable developers to take different actions, get code recommendations, and be provided with immediate explanations for errors. Moreover, a Dev Home dashboard will be launched, making it simpler to configure Windows development machines. The Microsoft Store, too, will have AI-generated app reviews and its AI Hub will feature applications that use AI.
Finally, through OpenAI, Bing has been set as the default search engine for ChatGPT’s chatbot and its plug-ins will be utilized across Microsoft’s AI-powered tools. Expedia, Instacart, Kayak, Klarna, Redfin, TripAdvisor, and Zillow are just some of the companies that have joined the list of its partners.
