74% of Indian Workers Express Concern Over AI Impact on ChatGPT and Google Bard

Date:

A recent report from Microsoft’s 2023 Work Trend Index has shown that 74% of Indian employees fear that artificial intelligence (AI) will take their jobs. The report surveyed 31,000 individuals across 31 countries, with 83% of respondents stating that they would give AI as much work as possible to lessen their workload. Although 100% of creative workers polled said they would be content using AI for creative aspects of their job, three out of four Indian employees were still concerned that AI would take over their roles. Despite some workers’ fears, many are still enthusiastic about AI in the workplace, believing it can alleviate digital debt, build AI aptitude, and empower workers. However, AI experts like Professor Yoshua Bengio are beginning to voice their concerns about this technology due to possible future abuse. Bengio, one of the leading experts in AI, stated that militaries shouldn’t be able to use AI due to its potential for misuse.

Microsoft is a technology company based in Redmond, Washington, that develops, manufactures, licenses, and sells computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and related services.

Professor Yoshua Bengio is a Canadian computer scientist known for his contributions to AI and deep learning, and he is one of the three pioneers of deep learning.
