Microsoft Corrects Issue with Surface Pro X Cameras

Date:

Microsoft has fixed a camera issue that affected Surface Pro X tablets, among other Arm-based devices. Cameras on these devices stopped working on May 23rd, preventing users from using built-in webcams on apps like Zoom or Microsoft Teams. It appears that Qualcomm’s camera driver for these specific models was faulty, causing the camera to stop working. Microsoft has issued a temporary fix, allowing cameras to function until a full update is released by the device manufacturer. While some features of the camera may be disabled and image quality may be lower, full camera functionality will be restored with the updated driver.

Microsoft has always strived to provide the best technology to its customers, and the Surface Pro X tablets are no exception. With 20 years of experience, the company has cemented itself as one of the leading tech giants in the world, providing software, hardware, and services to millions of customers worldwide.

Surface Pro X owners were the affected majority when the camera issue first arose, with the issue being solved by changing the system date to May 22nd. Panos Panay, the corporate vice president responsible for the devices division at Microsoft, had earlier unveiled plans to improve Arm-powered AI experiences on Windows 11. The new features include a new AI-powered Copilot assistant that helps users work faster and more efficiently.
