OpenShift for Generative AI: Red Hat Enhances Opportunities for the Future

IBM’s business unit Red Hat has recently announced an expanded AI capability with the new OpenShift AI platform at the Red Hat Summit. OpenShift AI is an evolution of the data science platform Red Hat already offers, with a focus on helping develop AI models in a way that allows them to reach production stages. OpenShift AI provides developers with tools to facilitate the training, serving, and monitoring of AI models. Additionally, the platform is capable of integrating custom runtimes for AI/ML models to ensure the right tools are used for the job. OpenShift AI also includes capabilities such as model performance tests and metrics to ensure accuracy of models once in production.

Red Hat is an open-source company within IBM established in 1993. During the early 2000s, Red Hat ventured into the enterprise operating system space by offering its Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS. Since its arrival, Red Hat has become a leader in the development and release of many open source and enterprise applications. Red Hat continues its innovation today with products such as OpenShift AI, which stemmed from Red Hat’s flagship container application technology.
