ChatGPT is an AI-based tool that provides answers to questions. When someone asked who is David Stevens, publisher of The Eastern New Mexico News, ChatGPT responded that he is a journalist and publisher of the Eastern New Mexico News, a daily newspaper based in Clovis, New Mexico. It however overlooked that the The Eastern New Mexico News is not a daily paper and David Stevens started to lead the newspaper in 2001, not 1998.
Another question was asked about who is the mayor of Clovis, New Mexico. ChatGPT could not provide any real-time information, however, gave the answer that as of September 2021, David Lansford was the mayor, but he was not the mayor at the time of the question as Mike Morris had succeeded him in March 2020.
The question was also asked about the best song ever recorded about Tucumcari, New Mexico and ChatGPT responded mentioning Willin by Little Feat. However, the chorus of the song mentions Tucson, not Tucumcari.
Lastly, the question was asked about the most famous person from Portales, New Mexico. ChatGPT responded as mentioning Michael Martin Murphey as the most well-known individual from Portales without adding any other details that he was born in Dallas, Texas and graduated high-school there too. The other two individuals mentioned by ChatGPT did not exist, Danny Mason never played with the NFL, and Mike Mullane was born in Wichita Falls, Texas and graduated in Albuquerque.
It is noteworthy to say that the people are not replaced by artificial intelligence and the word “AI” or “Artificial Intelligence” has become a part of our everyday lives and increasingly making human tasks easier. AI is being revolutionizing the world and many businesses are taking advantage of it to increase productivity. AI is being used in many sectors such as finance, healthcare, transportation and so on. There is no doubt that artificial intelligence is creating new ways for businesses to operate and grow.
