80% of This Study’s Participants Thought ChatGPT is an Effective Therapy Alternative

Date:

Though traditional therapy has proven to be a successful form of relief for individuals to share their thoughts, emotions and issues, some people may find it daunting or uncomfortable to communicate to them face to face. For this reason, more and more individuals have decided to turn to AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT, for advice and guidance instead.

A recent survey by Tebra, a company that specializes in an operating system for independent healthcare providers, spoke to 1,000 Americans and additional healthcare professionals shocked the world with the news that 1 in 4 Americans would rather seek advice from an AI chatbot than from a human therapist. Moreover, any individuals who had tried ChatGPT for their own guidance remarked that 80% of them thought it to be an effective alternative to therapy and a successful way to attenuate their anxieties and worries.

The concept of talking to a bot rather than a person may be harrowing at first, however, it can offer a certain level of comfort, assurance and freedom referred to as the online disinhibition phenomenon. This is why many people are more willing to share their thoughts and issues online that they wouldn’t otherwise share face to face. In addition, ChatGPT is not only used for therapy but also for medical diagnosis and advice, and it has also been found that 90% of the users obtained satisfactory outcomes.

As technology advances, AI has become an increasingly popular and reliable option for individuals in need of medical and emotional help. In fact, a report by Microsoft showed 70% of employees are content in outsourcing work to AI. With AI’s efficiency, capability and convenience, it has the potential to become valuable resource for many individuals in the near future.
