Zoom is introducing AI-powered features to enhance the video conferencing experience for users. Zoom IQ, described as a smart companion and powered by generative AI, is the company’s latest offering following in the footsteps of Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. The software comprises Zoom’s own proprietary LLMs, AI from other firms like OpenAI, as well as models from select customers. Its initial features include generating meeting summaries and chat composition. In the future, Zoom plans to introduce a similar tool for email and support for late joiners to submit queries. The service is being rolled out gradually to select English language account holders as a free trial, including various enterprise and business packages.
