Zillow Introduces ChatGPT Plugin for Real Estate Searches

Date:

Zillow Group (NASDAQ: Z and NASDAQ: ZG) is continuing to revolutionize how people search for homes. In an effort to make this experience as user-friendly as possible, Zillow has created a ChatGPT plugin specifically for real estate searches. This plugin enables users to have conversations with Zillow using their natural language to ask about their desired property listings, such as location, price range, and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms features. However, this is just the beginning of what AI and Real Estate can do, as Zillow has enabled various other features involving AI, such as the Zestimate®, recommendations, and natural language search over the years.

David Beitel, the Chief Technology Officer of Zillow Group, stated that “Generative AI is rapidly changing the way people search for information. We believe that AI and machine learning capabilities have immense potential and we are excited about the development of tech innovations with OpenAI technology”. Through the new plugin, ChatGPT users are able to access lots of real estate listings from Zillow’s massive database, and this is just the beginning to what AI has to offer in the real estate sector.

The Zillow ChatGPT plugin is currently in its Alpha phase, which enables the company to generate feedback and improve upon the user experience. OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, has implemented safeguards to minimize inaccuracies and prevent inappropriate responses, however users should be aware that there may be times when the experience does not work perfectly.

Zillow Group is constantly striving to offer customers an easier and more seamless experience when buying, renting, selling and financing properties. The new AI-powered search feature implemented through ChatGPT is only the latest piece of this puzzle, as others are included such as natural language search, personalized recommendations, and the neural Zestimate®, along with computer-vision-powered rich media experiences and AI-generated immersive floor plans.

His expertise in the field helped deepen Zillow’s vision of creating a powerful Housing super app that connects customers to every part of their real estate needs.
