Xiaoice Introduces AI Cloning Technology in China and Japan

Date:

tech giant Microsoft has introduced a revolutionary AI program in China and Japan. Xiaoice, an AI chatbot brand formerly operated by Microsoft, has come up with this program to digitally clone the personalities, voices, and appearances of the testers in the project. 300 individuals can register on the WeChat system for being part of this AI clone project. People from China and Japan are eligible to participate in the program. All it takes to create a clone is three minutes of data collection to create the AI-driven avatar.

The CEO of Xiaoice and former Microsoft executive Li Di believes that this will become the major consumer-facing business model for companies.

Recently, Snapchat influencer Caryn Marjorie demonstrated the use of GPT-4 API in her own AI cloning project. The interaction with the chatbot, called Caryn AI, earned her a revenue of $71,610 after beta testing it for a week. She offered this AI clone experience to her fans at just one dollar per minute.

Xiaoice has planned to reach the scale of 100,000 AI clones by the end of the year. The company’s first batch of AI clones will be operational within one month.

This AI cloning technology can bring about remarkable changes in various consumer-facing sectors, ranging from e-commerce to media. AI cloning enables customers to create a virtual replica of themselves to provide unique experiences. Consumers have the option to personalize their impressions with AI-driven Avatars to enhance their online presence. Not only does it provide an avenue for content creators to monetize their works, it also boosts creativity in the market with more room to explore.
