OpenAI, the company behind the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT, has confirmed a worldwide outage. For the last 45 minutes, users have been unable to access the bot and instead receiving an “Error Code” stating that the previous model used was unavailable. Reports from DownDetector and Downhound showed over one thousand users facing this issue.
The company’s status page confirms the outage and shows that there are issues with the various engines, including Whisper and Turbo Engines. OpenAI is actively looking into the source of the problem and the error rates seem to be gradually dropping. As of now, ChatGPT is still down in the U.S., Europe, India, Japan, Australia, and other parts of the world.
