Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to take center stage at the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai from February 12-14, 2024. The summit, themed Shaping Future Governments, aims to explore the profound impact of AI on various sectors and its potential to revolutionize global communities.
With the participation of over 100 esteemed personalities, including leaders from leading AI companies, government officials, and industry experts, the summit is expected to facilitate robust discussions to empower governments in effectively navigating the AI landscape.
Esteemed attendees include government leaders such as Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Kathi Vidal, Under-Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property of the United States, Ulvi Mehdiyev, Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt, and Mohamed Abdallahi Louly, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations of Azerbaijan.
Leaders of prominent AI companies like Sam Altman, CEO of Open AI, Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA, Jack Hidary, CEO of SandboxAQ, AJ Abdallat, CEO of Beyond Limits, and Werner Vogels, Chief Technology Officer at Amazon, will also share their insights during the discussions.
Adding to the excitement, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will participate in an in-conversation session on February 14. Khan, known as one of India’s most renowned cultural exports, will discuss his ascent to fame and fortune in a talk titled ‘The Making of A Star: A Conversation With Shah Rukh Khan.’
The summit’s agenda emphasizes the commitment to strengthen the role of governments in addressing AI challenges and harnessing its immense potential. With six main themes and 15 forums, the WGS 2024 edition will explore various facets of AI, including responsible governance, education, and infrastructure development, with the aim of promoting international cooperation and driving AI-centric progress for the betterment of all.
Of particular significance is the Artificial Intelligence Forum, which will serve as a platform for forging multi-sector partnerships and advancing responsible AI practices. The discussions within the forum will seek to establish a global consensus on ethical AI principles, enhance AI capabilities through education and infrastructure initiatives, and formulate future policies conducive to AI-driven innovation.
In addition to the forums, the WGS 2024 will host over 23 ministerial meetings and roundtables, involving 85 international, regional, and intergovernmental organizations. With more than 120 interactive sessions and workshops, the summit promises to facilitate meaningful exchanges and collaborations.
