Windows 11 Introduces AI Assistant Powered by Bing Chat and ChatGPT

Date:

Microsoft is excited to announce their latest feature coming to Windows 11 – the Windows Copilot! This cutting-edge AI-powered tool allows you to optimize productivity workflows with contextual suggestions and actions related to the content you are viewing on screen. The Copilot is integrated as a button on the Taskbar and offers a chat box for giving commands and asking questions. It acts like your “personal assistant” for everything Windows, replacing Cortana which came before it.

Windows Copilot is powered by Bing Chat and ChatGPT, and the feature will be available for preview starting next month. Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay revealed during the Build 2023 developer conference that Windows is the first PC platform to provide users with centralized AI assistance, all while leveraging Bing Chat and first and third-party plugins. With the Windows Copilot, users can do more than finding, launching, and working across multiple applications; they can ask it to configure Windows settings, open apps, analyze text and images within apps, initiate snap assist, check for updates, and more.

Microsoft has also conducted research and introduced other new features for Windows 11, such as native RGB peripheral controls and native 7zip format support. It’s exciting to see the company investing in improving the user experience and efficiency of their products. To learn more details about the Windows Copilot, do not miss their AI session hosted by Panos Panay and Corporate Vice President Rajesh Jha on May 24th.
