Edge Impulse is the leading provider of edge machine learning tools, striving to make the technology more accessible. To do this, they recently launched their university program to provide resources to schools and instructors on how teach edge and embedded machine learning. As part of the launch, they distributed over 3,000 free Arduino TinyML Kits for graduate and undergraduate students. This was in an effort to make the technology more affordable and accessible to students and educators.
The content provided in the university program included slides, videos and hands-on exercises, along with the kits. It was made available to more than 70 countries worldwide, helping to spread the knowledge of edge and embedded machine learning.
This year Edge Impulse is following up with its university program by giving away more Arduino Kits. These kits are designed to provide students and teachers with access to cutting-edge hardware and tools, enabling them to fill the increasing need for a robust workforce in the emerging field of edge machine learning.
Edge Impulse was founded in 2017 by CEO Zach Shelby, an embedded computing and IoT expert. He was previously a Lead Security Architect with ARM, working on bringing Internet of Things to the mainstream. His vision of creating accessible and affordable technology tools has helped to drive the academic outreach mission of Edge Impulse.
