With the rise of technology, like ChatGPT, more and more students are being enticed to use them for various tasks, including their job applications. Unfortunately, utilization of ChatGPT for professional applications have not been recommended by human resource managers as, after years of experience, it is easy to determine whether a CV is genuine or not. Additionally, due to similar algorithms, the HR professionals can easily dupe out applicants who rely on the AI bot.
Al Smith, Chief Technology Officer of iCMIS, acknowledged the potential of such applications; he stated that it helps expedite the process of hiring, starting from writing the job descriptions, through preparing and sending offer letters, and onboarding. However, he also cautioned candidates against underplaying the impact of one’s CV, as 39 percent of HR professionals have stated that it is a dealbreaker.
