During a recent press conference for the Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024, Rafael Frankel, Director of Public Policy for Southeast Asia at Meta Group, commended Vietnam for its impressive economic growth over the past two decades. He attributed this success to the unwavering determination of the Vietnamese people and the government’s open policies, particularly in the technology sector.
Frankel emphasized the importance of Vietnam maintaining its open policies to continue attracting global investors and technology companies. He stressed that the government should remain a welcoming environment for international businesses looking to invest in the country.
Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Huy Dong highlighted Vietnam’s proactive approach to embracing AI technology, citing the government’s national AI strategy until 2030 as a driving force behind the country’s progress.
Several Vietnamese companies, including FPT, Viettel AI, VNPT AI, and VIN AI, are actively involved in AI research and application. This commitment to innovation has put Vietnam on the map as a potential powerhouse in the AI industry.
In line with its commitment to supporting Vietnamese businesses, Meta plans to launch AI products and services in Vietnam and across the Asia Pacific region in 2024. These tools are expected to benefit small and medium enterprises in Vietnam, fostering innovation and growth in the local business landscape.
