upGrad Reports Record 55,000 Job Placements in FY24

Edtech and skilling major upGrad has announced a significant milestone by creating over 55,000 jobs in FY24 across major cities in India. This impressive feat encompasses new job opportunities, career transitions, and promotions in nearly 3,000 national and global companies. The annual CTC for these placements ranges from Rs 4.5 LPA to a maximum of Rs 1.80 crore, showcasing the diverse range of opportunities provided by upGrad.

The hiring focus was primarily on marketing, data, and tech domains, with approximately 50% of placements concentrated in cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Following these prominent locations, cities such as Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Noida, Gurgaon, and Ahmedabad, along with states like Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, also saw significant job placements.

Noteworthy is the fact that women professionals constituted a majority of individuals who opted to upskill for enhanced career growth or to re-enter the workforce through ‘returnship’ programs. Additionally, upGrad’s free courses in GenAI, Data, AI/ML, and technology witnessed over 1.4 lakh enrollments, indicating a growing interest in acquiring new skills and knowledge.

In FY24, upGrad’s Enterprise arm also played a pivotal role in upskilling and training around 600,000 corporate professionals.
