Date:

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, showcased their new generative AI technologies for its consumer products, including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. This was also announced in an all-hands meeting with the company to discuss several AI technologies in different stages of development. These technologies include AI chatbots, AI stickers, and other editing tools for Instagram Stories. The company is also developing internal-only products, such as an AI productivity assistant and an experimental interface for interacting with AI agents. Meta plans to host an internal AI hackathon in July, which could lead to new AI products that will eventually reach users. The company aims to offer its AI agents and photo editing tools to consumers free of charge, thanks to its ad-supported business. These tools will be launched this year, and Meta hopes to expand its AI technologies to other applications and eventually to smart glasses similar to the Ray-Ban Stories. The company is investing in generative AI, and according to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, this new technology will bring new capabilities to billions of users.
