Unacast Introduces Machine Learning Powered Foot Traffic Data Sets

Date:

Today, Unacast released their new Foot Traffic datasets powered by machine learning, providing even more insights for commercial real estate companies, retailers, and investors. This new data differentiates itself from the traditional GPS data aggregation model by using a machine learning model to attain better understanding into the location visitation patterns and stats. When tested with ground truth data, Unacast’s machine learning models showed an R- Squared of 91.6% or higher, which is widely accepted as being best-in-class.

Chief Product Officer of Unacast Jonothon Schuster expressed that their model will be a great help in unlocking the power of location intelligence while reducing the risks that come with GPS data. This means that real estate investors, portfolio managers, and businesses can now use this data with much more confidence in its accuracy.

The Foot Traffic Dataset is available across the entire United States, with history being recorded from October 2018. Data is updated on a weekly basis and can be provided through an API, AWS S3, or Google Cloud BigQuery. Unacast is able to offer seven types of visitation datasets.
